“When somethig I ‘m trying to learn gets difficult,my pattern in life is to just give up and quit in frustration. Being an atypical teen, I was never keen on learning how to drive. Finally in my early forties, I was faced with the prospect of perhaps moving somewhere with limited public transportation and decided to at least try to finally learn to drive. AS I had predicted, it was hard. Many times I was ready to quit. Despite my overwhelming fears and uncertainties, I astoundingly did not abandon my resolve even once. Gerald, with his infinite patience, encouragement, and keen sense of humor did not give up on me, and slowly but surely I did eentually master this skill that most people take for granted. In fact, I was able to dive so well that at times I felt I was a better driver than most of the other people sharing the road with me-to which Gerald agreed. For me and anybody who knows me, that borders on the miraculous!”

I moved to SD from NYC a year ago, and after 30ish years on the planet finally decided to act like an adult and learn to drive. I googled around for a school, and low and behold, I found Alliance Defensive Driving School as the Best Driving School for Transplanted New Yorkers! Clearly I needed to look no further! From the review I knew I’d found a place that wouldn’t make me feel like an ass for being 34 and vehicularly challenged.Gerald is calm, patient, incredibly knowledgeable and an all-around cool cat. Plus he has one of those soothing voices that just mellows you out no matter how much you’re freaking. Gerald took me from a non-driving sad little person to someone who is comfortable and confident behind the wheel. AND i got my license. WOOT!
